About the Research Theme of This Laboratory
◯Research on design methods for architectural and urban design using digital technology
Research on new designs using simulation and programming.
Architectural and urban design linked with big data using various types of simulations such as environment and structure.
Furthermore, in combination with programming such as Grasshopper, we will study methods to solve modern problems by design, such as shape optimization, processing of multiple parameters, and prototyping.
◯Research on the development of new building materials and construction methods using digital technology and analog technology
Applying digital technology design to traditional local techniques and materials, we will study the development of new architectural materials.
◯Research on environmental analysis of Asian architecture and cities
We will analyze and research architecture and cities in hot and humid Asian cities from the environmental aspect.
Currently, the world's mainstream environmental architecture and cities are cold region models that are mainly airtight and highly insulated, but in the Asian region where nearly half of the earth's population is concentrated, a different hot and humid region model is available. You will need it. We will do this under-researched field by analyzing Asian architecture and cities.
